I work in SE Alaska, very wet climate. Lately the t-111 siding we have been using, once wet, begins to buckle and warp. Also growing mold. It hasn,t been on the house a month yet. We are going to start treating it before we put it up from now on. Anybody else having these type problems? Do we have a bad lot of siding? Would like to hear from U…Thx.

You say "lately." Have you used this product in the past with no problems?
Yes, have had no problems in the past. This newer T111 seems to be lighter in color and completely notreated, where the older stuff is darker and beads water.
I have a love-hate relationship with the stuff. I love it because it pays me $$$ to replace it whenever someone neglects to back prime it. I hate it because it sometimes doesn't hold up even when I do backprime it myself.
I have not noticed a change in quality (I never recommend it), but I do sometimes get some that is already delaminating...and sometimes I fail to catch it until I have already cut it up (which usually exposes the problem).
My stuff proabably comes from a different mill than yours anyway.

The stuff we've been using has TECO stamped on the back. Spent 2.5 hours today treating all we put up with Wooodlife. Also treated what we havent put up yet. This was the first time we had this bad of a delaminating problrem. Also mold.
I once built homes in AK (80's) so I know T-111 is/was a mainstay.
The last house I built here in OH I used 4 ply 1/2 plywood for my roof sheeting. The stuff went on dry, spaced properly etc. Weeks later the shingles began humping up all over the roof. Brought the rep all the way from New Orleans and as he couldn't find an application error say's, "It buckled because you built close to a lake". I truely wanted to kill the bastard............I got stuck with the replacement tab
I believe the plywood industry has lowered their standards to the point you have to be a damn fool to buy the stuff............... sounds like T-111 has gone the same route.......the stuff used to be faultless.
I don't think I'd trust an on-site application of anything cause if the problem is in a cheaper laminating glue sooner or later the stuff will buckle and delaminate.
