Last year I had the main water line replaced to the house. It’s 200′ of 3/4″ schedule 40 PVC. I’d like to “T” off the line and run 60′ to a new garage. The digging and dirty work is done and I have access to the line.
My Question: What steps should I take to install the “T” in the main line? Tips?
I’m concerned about (or how) cutting the line, inserting the “T” and then not being able to get the 2 old ends into the new “T” w/o leaks.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

All,
Thank you for your advice. I dug down to the line and back about 3' on each side. Practiced on a couple of scrap pieces first and the glued in the "T". Plenty of flexibility to the lines. I think I spent more time researching/planning than the 30 minutes it took to put the "T" in and 60' of line.
Thanks!
