What type of joint compound do you guys have the best luck with on doing spray texture finish? All propuse or light weight . Also PVA before of after, I will be painting over the texture.

i like topping. Smooth and creamy, but USGs all purpose just got that way recently. Havent tried textures with the new stuff yet, but it trowels worlds better. I prime after. Don't get hung up on the whole "PVA is a godsend" idea. Primer is good. A great deal of the PVA's out there dont have a whole lot going for them other than the initials in the name. If its 7 bucks a gallon . . . get something worth putting on the wall.
I ought to ask what you're texturing with. Trowel or tex gun?
