Source control, ventilation, and filtration are the keys to healthy indoor air quality. Dehumidification is important too.

My sentiments exactly, Calvin. We were, and ARE a pretty tight-knit community of relatively like-minded people, and we've come to know some names and faces from the publications. Our hearts go out to your community, and I'm quite sure that many of you are affected - neighbors, church friends, aquaintances. What a tragedy. Many of us are praying for your community, the families, the first responders.
Greg
Here's a link to help the Newtown families.

I just put down my copy of Fine Homebuilding this evening and I noticed that Tauton Press is located in Newtown. I remember a past article or video that showed an associate editor's young son holding a flashlight for him and it sends chills down my spine. Reading the articles and becoming familiar with some of the editors and authors make me feel like they are part of my extended “learning” family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as I'm sure you are all affected by this tragedy.
Just FYI - In another forum I saw a post from someone who had been in contact with one of the Taunton employees. Thankfully none of them had kids that were killed.
But of course I'm sure there will be a lot of indirect fallout that they'll have to deal with. My heart goes out to everyone affected.
Thoughts for all the families
My thoughts and heart go out to the people of Newtown. I can't imagine how you are bearing up under every parent's worst nightmare, but my hope for some healing goes out to you.

We at the Taunton Press are most fortunate in that none of our immediate family members were lost in the horror that took place last Friday at Sandy Hook Elementary School. But as a community, we are devestated that this has happened--in our own backyard.
I'm speaking for myself right now--but I'm certain that many of my co-workers feel the same--thank you so very much to all of you who have reached out to us via this forum, other forums, Facebook, and emails and telephone calls to our office and to our homes. It has helped immensly to let us know that we are in your thoughts and that you are sending your love and compassion and strength our way.
We (well, I anyway) will probably never be able to understand why this happened. How one disturbed -- or as some say, evil--person could cause such devestating destruction of so many lives. But what I do totally understand living in Newtown and whitnessing what's happened the past few days is just how much good is in this community, and in this world. So many people, you all included, have taken the time to say "we're here for you." So many millions of people from around the globe have shown in so many ways that "we're thinking of you and we send you our love and support."
This is what I'll be taking away from this madness. That while awful, unimaginable things may happen at any moment to any one of us, we will always have friends, even if we have never met them face-to-face, that will be there for us.There will always be people, and they may not always see eye-to-eye with us, who will offer a shoulder to cry on and an ear to let us voice our pain. And there will always be people, like the teachers who lost their lives at Sandy Hook School and the first responders to any of these horrific situations, who will be there to protect and help others.
There is so much more good in this world than bad. Never forget that.
With much affection and gratitude, and wishing you all peace on earth,
Maureen
