I went to Home Depot today and bought some dog eared fencing. 5 1/2 x 1/2- x 6′
Since the thickness is only 15/32″ should I put in a third rail? It’s just so thin that it’s not what I would consider strong enough with two.

Yeah, you beat me to it.

A middle rail won't help the strength of the pickets, but it will help to keep them flatter. Even a 2x3 rail in the middle would help.

Thanks FastEddie. You other guys are having way to much fun.
A third rail may make the squirrels go away. Keep the dog inside.
