   You can make a saddle with a 4 X 4 X 2 Combination fitting by cutting off the bottom half of the 4", but it will not pass Code.
   With no-hub fitting (rubber coupling w/ stainless clamp)it make middle of runs connections easy. Just loosen the clamp and slip the coupling past its middle stop.

   Most areas do not allow saddle fittings, so if you want to do this close to code you will have to cut a fitting into the line. Dont forget your upstairs line will need a vent. You should also have a drain pan under the washer that drains to a trapped line tied into the sanitary system. Make sure that the water is turned off to the washer when not in use. Luck.

   A saddle fitting would work fine, but its permissibility would depend on local code.

   Don't forget the drain you are installing needs a trap, or else sewer gasses will vent into your house.  I'd recommend using 2" pipe to ensure sufficient flow capacity.
