I’am planning replacing a tile surround around tub and shower.(Greenboard turned to mush) I would like to use backerboard behind tiled areas.I know to use a cementiuos type joint compound for the backerboard seams but I’am not sure what product to use for joints where backerboard meets drywall. Any sugestions?

Steve ,
No special product, just let the tile lap over the green booard 1/4 to1/2 inch.- Rick Tuk
*Yep, thats how I deal with it too . Chuck
*In general I switch from tile backer to sheetrock at the stud that is hopefully just outside the tub. Mesh tape with thinset troweled over it bonds and seals the seam. If the tile does not cover this rough surfuce then it is mudded as necessary. Joe
