I am covering an old floor with tile.Should I leave a gap at the baseboard or grout it.It is going to be covered with a shoe.Dose it even matter? Thanks any body. Fudnutter.

No real reson to grout the gap if it will be covered by base or shoe. Put blue masking tape over the existing base before grouting to protect the finish from the abrasive action of applying the grout. Try no to put the tape lower than the top of the tile or it will be hard to pull the tape off without scrwewing up the grout. Personal experience.
