Does anyone one know what they use to use for wall tile grout 30 to 50 years ago? It does not mildew like the new grouts.

Silica sand and white cement. I have heard that "new & improved" changes in mfg. operations today result in a not-so-slight change in cement.
I have heard this same story from old time tile setters and masons alike.
