Unique Refinishers; sprayed in place; on the web. About $675; tub and tile and some minor repair; long guarantee; takes about 6 hours, and they really keep the smell out of the house.

Looks nice, wonder how long it will last? Have a website?

My folks had a two tubs done in 1982 - still look good. We have had them do some antique pedestal lavs for our house 10-12 years ago.
I forget what the new guarantee is - don't have the invoice in front of me.

Interesting...I've run across reglazing companies before, never really know what to make of it.
Thanks for the info.PaulB
like most any other "painting" ...
it's all in the prep work.
I've worked around tons of the stuff ... most were similar applications of similar products ... have seen stuff fair weeks later ... or last and look perfect after years of abuse.
talked to one tech ... he said it was all in the prep.
his company even had jobs done by lazy tech's that failed in short order ...
even though they had "the best product and the best system" ...
it isn't recommended for kitchen sinks .... even the best will chip/crack if a gard heavy object is dropped on it ... best place I knew around here refused kitchen sinks for that reason.

Does it cover the grout too? I think that would look a little odd.
It does cover the grout. Doesn't look weird; the grout is a rougher texture so looks different than the tile. I'll try to get a close-up pic today.
Prep work is right - I had done some cleaning, but the guy spent 5 hours prepping and maybe 20 minutes spraying.
Edit - They won't do kitchen sinks; he's right. I begged them to do a big double-drainboard farmhouse sink for a project a few years ago, but no dice. Client even looked into furnace reglazing, but it was too large at the time. Not an incredible sink, but had been in the family since before the first house burned down in the '20s; got reused in the "new" house built in '27 that I renovated in 2002. We used it "as-is", worked out fine.

A friend of mine does this for a living...did stuff for me in the mid-80s that is still in use. He also declines to do kithen sinks, as well as electric stovetops bec they get too hot around the burners, but i believe he does gas stovetops. He also does a lot of repair work after people have been ripped off by unreputable re-coating companies. :-[
Man, I got a weak spot for that salmon tile. Takes me way back. ; ^ )

What kind of restrictions are there on use?
The jobs I've seen have had warnings not to leave soap or shampoo bottles etc on the new "glaze."

I want to update y'all on Unique Refinishers and the great job they did for me; spraying a tub and shower last week. Top left hand corner, there was a small wipe where the masking paper rubbed some wet tile on removal. The guy pointed it out to me; gave me a return and fix date when it was all cured.
They did that yesterday, even found some more microscopic blems to redo, since the tub / shower hadn't been used yet.
And, the two guys decided the tub respray wasn't shiny enough, especially around the drain, due to the tub being 50 years old with a dripping faucet, and they resprayed the tub! (The first guy had discussed the erosion before he started last week, and I had accepted that there would be slight roughness)
Eye-wateringly shiny and slick now.
No extra charge.
Nice to see pride in workmanship.

How much did they charge for that job?Rebuilding my home in Cypress, CA
