Hello there,
I am in the process of reviewing various tile saws. If anyone has some recommendations it would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Dennis

if u can spend the money buy the dewalt...
I've got a Dewalt 24000, friend has an MK 101.
Dewalt strong suites are portability (weight) - easy to adjust angle, miter, depth of cut -contains it's water mist well. Weaknesses; direct drive motor is noisy...like a chop saw.
MK is smooooth and quiet because of remote Baldor motor, weaknesses are it's heavy and clumsy for one guy to move and the one sided table rail occasionally spit out it's bushing.
For ease on operation and portability, I'd choose the Dewalt again. If I were setting up for long term on big jobs, I'd look hard at Target/Felker. Similar to MK in design, but attention to details seems better.

Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.
I have a MK 101 and it's a work horse, as noted the single side rail can be problamatic. It's not horrible however it is not as nice as some of the Target saws I've seen.
Overall if I had to buy another I wouldn't hesitate.
I have a smaller MK. I bought it because of it's portability. Works great for me. I've used it on tons of large floor tile, and have never had a problem.
Just finished a job with 14x14 tile, laid diagonally, and the smaller saw was not an issue. I can pick it up and move it easily by myself.

I wish I had a reason;
my flaws are open season
odd to hear you say that, err.. see you write that, because i too have that saw and i absolutely hate it. the single tube rail with the chumpy plastic.. bearing/table holder/dont know what to call it (the part that slides back and forth on the tube rail) is soooo flexy. cuts are often ugly up close from all the flex. I use the back up HF junker instead. twice the tool and still a piece of junk______________________________________________
--> measure once / scribble several lines / spend some time figuring out wich scribble / cut the wrong line / get mad
oh.. just read that. no offense meant im sure you turn out beautiful work with yours i just dont like mine______________________________________________

The table doesn't like to stay square to the blade, but other than that I haven't had a major problem with slide rail.
My friend has the MK 101pro, and as far as I can tell the table/rail mechanism is identical to mine.
It's just a matter of checking it occasionally, and adjusting it.I wish I had a reason; my flaws are open season
Go here and check out what they have to say...

The MK models 100 and 101 are almost impossible to beat as far as quality of cut and lasting ability.
and the 101 pro is better yet...Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming<!----><!----><!---->
WOW!!! What a Ride!Forget the primal scream, just ROAR!!!
I have a Felker FTS-150 and I'm very happy with it. Check out the FTS-75 if all you need is a smaller saw.
Don't get a tile saw with a small grinder motor -- it will drive you and everyone around you crazy.

I've had the Target wetsaw for a gazillion years at least and its gotten tons of use with tile AND brick. Never a days trouble with her.
Kinda pricey but if I had to do it again...she'd be my baby : )

I'd offer to sell you my Felker FTS-75, but then you'd probably find out you can buy them for a whole lot less than I did. I think the deals are still going on, but this saw was $300 a year ago, and it's now under $200. With a little finessing, I cut 16x16 travertine with this. YMMV.
I've got the dewalt, really like it. But since your just reviewing.....

I've got a MK Diamond MK-660 I picked up used at a local tool xchange, been using it to cut ceramic, slate and stone tiles with one of the MK HotDog blades. I have a couple bathrooms that I have been using the 2" octagon/1" dot tiles from Dal-Tile on a 12x12 sheet. The big negative is that the sliding table is too small and the flexible sheet hangs down in front of the blade. I solved the problem by putting a piece of 12x12 slate as a "sacrificial" tile on the table, but I shouldn't have to do that.
Other wise I like it, generally. The 3/4 horse motor is very smooth and quiet. I put the pump in a separate bucket of clean water, not in the saw tub, and it keeps all the crud and gunk out of the pump. It does go through a lot of water but that's very minor for the sake of keeping things clean.
The saw goes for about $600 new, I got it for $350.
