Thanks for replies to previous post on subfloor. Was wondering if anyone had any interesting ideas on how I can make the transition from the tile coming off the back wall of the shower wall to where it will meet with the beadboard wainscotting, and on the front wall of the shower where the tile will end at the corner of the control wall, and the beadboard will continue out the other side. I had found an interesting picture some time ago that I thought came from someone on this site, but I can’t seem to locate it in my files. The bathroom is 5′ x 10′ with a “standard” 30″x60″ tub surround recessed into the back left side of the room. The tub surround will be tiled up to the ceiling and the beadboard will go around the room chair rail height. My two concerns are the backwall where the tile will meet the beadboard, and how to “end” the beadboard where it will stop at the front shower wall corner. I have some ideas of my own, but I know there are alot of ideas out there that I haven’t stole yet 🙂 Much appreciated.

You know, not to generalize, but the 29% of people who still support President Bush are the ones who love to pronounce themselves more patriotic than the rest of us. But just saying you're patriotic is like saying you have a big one. If you have to say it, chances are it's not true.

Nice work andy, thanks. did you just butt the wainscott up to the tile? I couldn't tell from the picyure. also where you have the built in shelves near the front of the shower is the other spot I was trying to figure out how to end that in an attractive way. i like that idea but a built in is out of the question in my situation. Any ideas? once again, nice pix and thanks for taking the time to post them.

They just butt together and caulked in. I could have used a piece of molding but they fit together nice the way it was.
Just be sure to figure all your elevations right and what you can do to fancy them up the way you like it.

In the lower right of the first pic is that a gap under the door trim where it mets the floor?
Did you have the trim up before the tile or after?

what a dick you are...LOLOLOL. I actually JUST got up and walked in there to take a look...lol. There's no gap there at all. Just looks it in the picture...........barely.
That trim around the door IS the original trim on this house. Its on almost all the origunal 364 year old doors. No way was I messing with them other than stripping them all down. I did rip that entire floor up right down to the log floor joists so you did have me second guessing myself just now...lol...you dick...lol.
Remember that picture I posted a ways back of me sittin' on the thrown with my pants around my ankles reading a copy of FHB? That picture showed it cept I think I just have that pix in a BMP which means I can't really post it unless maybe I can find it in the archives...hmmmm

snort* I have that in a BT folder dedicated to such respectable photos.
How's you get the base of the trim to get so tight to the tile then? Cut it there in place?
be no pun intended

who remembers...lol. I think I started the wainscott right there.
Wainscott is a full 3/4". The tile and CBU add up to just about the same.
