I’m trying to install a door that I built, but am obviously doing something wrong although I don’t know what. The door is pretty big and heavy (44″ x 80″, with two panels of insulated glass, 24″ x 34″ and 36″ x 34″). On the hinge side, the space between the door and the jamb starts off at about 1/32″ at the bottom hinge, but increases to about 3/16″ by the time we get to the top hinge. How come? Is the door too heavy for the hinges? Do I need more or bigger hinges? Currently using 3 4″x4″ hinges.
Help please. I have a bunch more to install and need to straighten this out. Thanks.
