   *don, check out ebay for really nice framing chisels. especially old Buck or L&IJ White. i see them on there all the time for much less than new. better steel, too. also a good place to find planes, bith common and unusual. jack rabbets are popular with timber framers i believe, and seem plentiful, though a little more pricey.
