I need some creative solution to this.
I have a washing machine with a laundry sink
next to it. The sink itself is not the plastic
sink with the 4 legs but a sink ontop of
a cabinet base.
Instead of running a drain hose into the sink, I’m
trying to figure out a more long term solution that
looks a little better at the same time. Is there
such a thing as flexiable 1.5 copper. If so, I could
bend it a straight S fashion…attach it to the.
On the top is where I would have the drain hose
from the machine going into it. On the other end
of the *S*, I would run it alongside the sink.
This solves the worry of the hose ever moving
when there is too much water flow..etc..etc.
My first option would be to just *t* it off where the tailpiece
is on the sink and route it to a 2″ stand pipe where the drain
hose from the machine goes to but my countertop is flush with the wall
and also flush on the side of the machine. I don’t want to make a hole
in the cabiner, in case I ever decide to rearrange things, the cabinet
is ruined.
Any ideas on how to accomplish this particular setup?

Is this system actually working the way you describe? You have no problem with the draining of the water as the washer pumps it into the sink REALLY fast?
Then, you can simply tie the hose against the wall with a mount of some sort, with the outlet aiming toward the sink.
Better way: Bring another drain pipe out the side of the cabinet. It will only be a 2-inch hole, and can be easily plugged later. But, if your laundry area is anything like anybody's I have seen, water splashing, bleach splashing, soap mess, and the rest will quickly make the vanity cabinet "unattractive" anyway.
*Keep in mind that the end of the drain hose for the washer needs to be 34" to 36" ABOVE the ground. The washer manufacturer should have given you an owner's manual of sorts that lists this info (how high their's should be). A washer drain line that is too low will prevent the washer from draining properly, and in some cases, from draining at all.James
*The cabinet isn't gonna be real attractive to start with....there's an ugly washing machine sitting right next to it! Jeff
