TN basement: to Tyvek or not to Tyvek
I have a walk out basement that is finished and heated and cooled. The interior walls are sheet rocked with batton fiberglass insulation that are open to an unfinished crawl space. We have periods of moderate humidity. Should I use some sort of house wrap (ie Tyvek) to cover the fiberglass insulation in the outside vented crawl space? This is a large unfinished area (8-10 foot ceilings) with passive outside venting.

I would not use Tyvek or any vapor barrier in this situation.
Do you know that you have a problem with moisture in the insulation? The problem with adding a impermeable or semi-permeable sheet is if (when) the insulation gets wet it will take more time to dry out. I would inspect the fg at regular intervals to determine if you really need something.
