*ok bobl, which fence: biesemeyer or unifence
*I own neither so can't help you, otherwise I would have provided an opinion. Saw your post in two places, figured you were having trouble getting to this level on the board, so tried to help. You might find some useful info in the Knots board in tools (try Retrofit tablesaw fences thread).
*Todd, I have used the Biesmeyer, but own a Unifence. In my opinion either one is a good choice and both are extremely accurate.
*thanks frank... and bobl
*I've had the unifence on my saw since '85, still works great. A buddy of mine has had his Biesemeyer even longer & his still works great, also. The difference between the two fences:for cutting on the right side of the blade the "B" fence is good to go where the unifence you need to remove the 2 knobs, slide the fence & bolt setup off the body of the fence, back on the other side & replace knobs. takes about 30 seconds.the plus about the unifence is you can drop the fence to it's other position that is benefical for some applications. You can also slide the fence in & out so you have more or less fence on the outfeed side of the blade. After having it for 15 + years, I still prefer the unifence. My buddy still prefers his Biesemeyer.gb
*Both are good fences. I prefer the UniFence for the reasons Greg mentioned. The shops I've worked at had the Biesmeyer ....rugged and and accurate. Don't think you'd go wrong with either one.
