Has anyone had experience with a 1.6 gpf toilet that actually works? A recent renovation used TOTO brand that apparently works for them.

Our 4-year old Gerber has NEVER failed to completely flush all doo-doo et al on the first attempt. Perfect.
*I've got Gerbers as well, with the Sloan Flushmate pressure assist. They cost about $220. They're noisy enough to seriously delay potty training, but I think they'd flush a cantalope.andy

*I agree on Toto. Make sure whatever toilet you use has a 2" glazed trapway. Until we get the water back up to a reasonable amount this will continue to make a difference.b Been there, done that, plunged anyway

I have to say I find this occasional kvetching about lo-flow toilets overblown. Perhaps the early ones were lousy, but I have in my house two of the $89 cheapo, off the shelf Home Despot models and, how to say this politely, despite my vigorous testing they have given me no problem.

What is this about flush problems?? I've been using Crane's and haven't had a problem with them. Rarely they need to be flushed twice, or even thrice. But that is rare and they never have to be plunged or snaked. These don't have pressure assist either. This is better than the old water waster's they replaced.
What are you folks who have problems trying to put down the toilets, elephant dung?
