Hi to everyone:
I have an elderly aunt who needs a higher height toilet, she has a 4″ adaptor that thumb screws to the bowl. Two weeks ago it slipped off causing her to fall(she did’nt have her life alert button with her)and ended up spending the night on the floor.
The height of the toilet with the adaptor is 20″
The highest toilet I can find is 17″ ada
Has anyone ever used or installed an item called the toilevator? It’s basically a platform that goes under the toilet,to raise it about 3 1/2″
It looks easy to install, and the price online is about $79.00 Sounds like a reasonable fix.
Thanks for your help
Greg

Don't know about that. But I DO know those extenda seats need a revamped attachment to the bowl. Change out the cheap plastic clips and add fender washers and new bolts.
Glad she wasn't hurt. I re-did mom's and an older gentleman friend who had recent back rebuilding...those parts are crap.

Hi Shere:
Yeah they are not to stable.I don't know if they make a more secure model ,I went to a couple of med stores but they all seem to carry the same thing.
I called olsenite(toilet seats) yesterday and they do make an elevated seat that bolts like a regular seat but I' not to sure how secure it would be

Sorry to hear about your aunt.
Could you frame a 2x4 and subflooring box, run the lines up and install the toilet on that?
Add grab bars while you are there and non slip flooring.
A true throne...
Brian :That's basically what the toilevator doe's,but they include the extension piping, plus I don't have to match up the finish floor.
The grab bars are on the way

There is the option too.http://www.terrylove.com/crtoilet.htm
I haven't used that product, but I've done a handicapped bath with two toilets on platforms I just built from 2x4s on edge; tiled and finished like the floor. Works fine still, 8 years later.
