Too shallow to put joists under hip raf.
How should i run the joists at the point where the hip rafters meet the corners of the walls? Since my pitch is only a 4/12 there is not much room right under the hip rafters at the corners to put a ceiling joist near the edge of the wall. Is there a way to figure out where my last joist should go and still have the hip rafter go over the top of it?
How should I tie in the wall that the ceiling joists run perpendicular to? Make a ledger of sorts and use stubby joists?
Thanks

There are several options. The most common option is to stop the joist at the last layout where a full standing joist is possible, then cut "lookouts" for the end.
Do I sister the last joist for the lookouts? I can't tell where my last full standing joist should end. Any method to figure that out?
If you look at the picture, you'll see that I've put some of the lookouts on each end. At the corner, I usually lay a 2x10 on the flat in some manner.
This is probably more typical on roofs that don't use energy heels. Notice how the 2x10 "backing" on the corners are angled. Theres a couple reasons: it allows you to slide the backer away from the corner to leave the proper amount of "meat" on the hip heel cut. Also, the wide backer is a great place to store your nails, lunch, chew, doobies or whatever else you bring up there.
Thanks Jim. What's an energy heel?
An energy heel is a "hap" that allows more insulation at the plate line.
Bof,
You can do it like this:

Thanks Joe. Looks like a lot of way to skin this cat.
Joe and I are showing the same thing.
Not the angled look outs.
You'll figure out why you need them
Drywall?
All of these questions would have been moot if you had used trusses!
True but I would not learned as much as I have.
I will give you that!
Yes and insulation.
