Can someone tell me a good source for tool belts – specifically for skinny guys? I like the short pouches, and the individual ones available around here are all long, so I end up using the leather apron type and punching moe and more holes as stretching and summer weight loss take their toll, and eventually I just run out of room…I thought I’d found one at a local yard til I saw it was a kiddy tool belt…imagine my embarrassment….

I hate when I'm walking up steps and my hammer constantly swings into my ankles.
thanks for the link to diamondback - I remember now a guy who had some and loved them...their prices seem to indicate the makers are pretty proud of them as well (said with scottish accent)(it's ok I'm part scottish) (really)....
I think I remember Duluth having smaller belts. Think their email is something like Duluthtrading.com. I'll edit this if I can find my last catalog. --it's http://www.DuluthTrading.com

Referring to skinny carpenters getting skinnier over the summer.... I know a couple of skinny carpenters who also scuba dive. Some overlap in interests (as with ultralight flying) that I attribute to equipment fetishes.
Try replacing the belt itself (for use with individual pouches) with the nylon webbing belts divers use for lead weights. The good buckles for these are stainless steel. They quick-release with one hand but do latch very securely. Readily available. If the main portion of the belt is the webbing, the pockets do slip around. If that's not okay, consider sewing nylon tails onto a core, min length, stretch of leather or double up the webbing with a layer of leather, or rivetting key pouches straight through. The strip of webbing that goes into the body of the buckle can be adjusted seasonally as you move to outdoor clothing (a foot or more of excess can be folded back under itself, out of the way), and the length of the free end that you pass into the buckle can vary over about 8 inches without being too little to grip or getting in the way.
interesting...a new scuba shop just opened right near where I'm working (Beaver Lake , Arkansas) so it's worth a look -see....
