I pulled out my EZsmart, for the first time since last summer, to cut some plywood for some built-ins. Gosh darnit; it rips through like a hot knife through butter. Every cut the same. It still amazes me.

Yeah, it's a great tool. I use mine constantly, and can't imagine working without it.

You aren't alone, I'm with you .
I use mine on a regular basis and am very happy with it.
I bought the RX router base and that has made routing dados, flutes very EZ.

You know, I've been coming to Breaktime for years, and the two best things I've taken away from here are the Fein Multi-Master and the EZsmart guide. These two tools have saved me hours of frustration.
Each serves a limited, unique purpose, but in the most efficient way !

A couple months back I was enquiring of this unit and other options. I haven't pulled the trigger yet but what you all have said here is encouraging. I'll be doing a lot of work with sheet goods very soon.

Nevermind. The EZ is a good tool.
oh come on, just when I thought you were gonna pull that trigger!Real trucks dont have sparkplugs
Fe.........Never mind.
Fe . . . nce can be made out of a 1x2 and then a base out of 1/2" ply.
Thats what I thought he was gonna say anyway.

I was cutting in a sink in a new countertop and the rear cut had to be made 1/2" from the integral post-formed backsplash. The festool saw will cut that close to an edge - I was surprised to see that - very handy. Now that I've thrown a wrench in the conversation - I'll agree how darn handy either of the edge guide/saw systems are. Wouldn't be without one of em.Also used the Porter Cable tiny belt sander 2 1/2 belt - man - that is my new favorite tool! One handed dust free scribing - excellent!JT
That is not in the budget so I don't even want to down that avenue. First it's the plunge cut saw next I'll have to get a vacuum ( sorry, "dust collector") for it. Was however, eying up the Systainer in the Mcfeeleys catalog. Always on the lookout for a better way to store screws, nails, small parts... Currently I have a dozen of the Stanley storage bins (with the clear lexan lid) that ride in the van.
Ahem, "dust extractor." ;-)
Love those Stanley bins. I have a bunch. One of these days I'll make a Systainer Port-type home for all the bins.
