Anyone here ever use ToolKing.com?
I see they have a consistant supply of items on ebay, but I am thinking of buying a few machines directly throught their website. Their e-bay prices start about $20 below their reg. price, so why wait to save $20 or get outbid anyway? I guess it makes sense for them as this way they are bringing tools to the marketplace rather than waiting for customers to wander onto their website and they can possibly sell the tool at a premium price.
They say they’ll price match any price you give them and they can confirm. I guess this makes sense if you want to buy all your tools from one distributor.
Anyone have any insight to how these virtual tool/ ebay warehouses maintain stock?
Do they have a distributor they buy their machines from 1x/ week and then ship out?
Do they have a supply on-hand of items they know they can sell within 5, 10, 30 days?
Do they even ever see the items that get shipped out – in other words is there a central distribution network they all use which does all the shipping?
Do they just call in the order to the factories which ship directly from there?
Any feedback or thoughts?

I've ordered stuff from Toolking and they delivered quickly. I think they shipped from their warehouse but I don't remember for sure...

I ordered a couple of times, no problems. I get their e-mail updates routinely. Cannot answer you business model questions though. I use Amazon more than them because I have an Amazon Visa and get gift cert/reward $ that I can use. Prefer Heavy Duty Tools.net since they are local if they have the item.
I think they have all of the products in stock. They used to have about 6 stores here in Denver, they shut down all of their brick and mortar stores, except one big one. It's been a while since I've been in there, but if I remember right they seemed to have quite a bit of space in the back to warehouse all of the tools for the internet side of the business.
They get lots of factory refurb DeWalt. Shipped from their warehouse. I bought an 18v impact driver off ebay. It came quickly and well package. Works like a new one and was only $65 bare. I used to buy some metalworking stuff direct from their catalog. Never a problem. Seems like good deals on Ebay.

Thank you for all your responses. TK seems very polite and accommodating over the phone. I did make an initial purchase and they said they will be sending me a tracking # to follow the shipment process. So far, so good. We have a Tool King store here in Denver. They both new and refurb. The refurbs carry same as new warranty:) I have purchased manny of both with no problems. Save some $$ and go refurb!
recently bought a table saw, mobile base, router attatchment, outfeed table ........
they were great
the table saw was out of stock, but they called me to tell me that even though they had it listed as such on the web. they just wanted "to know if they should save one for me" when they came in. the delivery guy (18 wheeler) was even really great.
just a pleasure to work with
