          Sorry there rez

I was trying to post to you that the "deal of the day" was different for me than the one you posted - for the same day.

Since I was unable to copy and paste the deal I deleted the post.

I have that hypoid... baby it.The review FHB did on it is fairly spot on (unfortunately). At least I also paid like $80 for mine, new.

I have that hypoid... baby it.

I have an old Makita worm, can't kill it.

Can't lift it either, would make a good anchor.

The mag Hypoid is light... one of the ligthest in the test.I think the quote that sticks in my head is "good for trim carpentry".Ouch.It's been... okay... I definitely prefer left blade cutting and it's certainly more accurate and powerful that the p.o.s. craftsman sidewinder it replaced... but it does sometimes bog down on stuff it really shouldn't (that my cordless 6-1'2" could get through with a little strain) and the base feels... flimsy... I keep eyeballing it thinking I've already bent it.

The XXL I have I like alot.

It is heavy, but the handle and shape make it way easier than any other overloaded bucket or bag I've used.

That's all I know, other than Roger was gracious enough to donate the Fest bag.

His shirts are nice also.A Great Place for Information, Comraderie, and a Sucker Punch.

        very well...

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming<!----><!----><!---->

Forget the primal scream, just ROAR!!!

"Some days it's just not worth chewing through the restraints"

  4. Henley | Oct 02, 2009 05:02pm | #9

I've had that bag for about a year now.

The design is very good. The handle on top kicks but and the
    pockets work well for me.

The zippers are ####. the mesh pockets got torn up by my scribes
    and knives and stuff.

So, it's good but not a Veto by any means.

    1. rez | Oct 02, 2009 05:14pm | #10

oh well, who uses the zippers.

Sounds like customizing for the mesh then. My cases usually get beat to hell after a while anyhow. Better spending 45 instead of 145.

    2. GregGibson | Oct 02, 2009 05:59pm | #11

Trick I learned from an old school carp several years ago - works for nail bags, tool bags, aprons - cut down a one quart plastic motor oil container and "line" the pocket with it.  When you change nails, the whole thing lifts out, and it protects the bottom of your case, nail bags, etc.

I use them in my Duluth Trading Company tool bag to keep various pliers, cutter, screwdrivers standing up and in place.

They're tough - they hold up very well, cut down to about 4".

      Greg

      1. cussnu2 | Oct 02, 2009 08:23pm | #12

and the caps off those oil bottles are just the right size to cover the bearings on the pulleys of my JD mower deck.  Keeps out all the dust and debris and you can fill them with grease before you pounds them in.  Impressed the heck out of the JD dealer when he worked on my deck.  My FIL used a yellow Penzoil cap and it looked factory original.  The service guy had no idead what he was up against when he went to work on it because he had never seen one before.  He said he had to check the service manual twice and they finally figured out it was a "custom" cap.

      2. Henley | Oct 02, 2009 09:42pm | #13

Good tip, thanks. Rez- The truth is I am very happy with the bag. Just trying
        to give good feed back.

Got it today, and it's ok. Just ok. Would buy it again so I guess that's what gives the thumbs up or down. Have to run around with it a while to see what it really is tho'.

The HD canvas tool box style carrier still gives allot of bang for the buck at $20 something but looks like they may have discontinued them.

Maybe I can put the rest of the soso tools in this new bag and finally get rid of the buckets.

freakin' seeyou invented those damn buckets

      1. Henley | Oct 07, 2009 07:06pm | #20

Yup, it's a step up from the buckets but not much more.

        1. rez | Oct 07, 2009 07:49pm | #21

          So what's the answer?

          1. Henley | Oct 07, 2009 09:04pm | #22

            --------42--------

          2. rez | Oct 07, 2009 11:17pm | #23

Hey, if I could be free of buckets for $42 I'd do it.

          3. JTC1 | Oct 12, 2009 05:43pm | #30

Ahh, "42", the long awaited answer to the "ultimate question".....
