What kind of security is any body using for tow behind trailers? when you leave it at the job to run around, or over night?
Any body using any tracking type GPS or other high tech so when it does disappear you can find it fast?
I ‘ve got a 20’ pace with a break away elc that puts the breaks on when it’s triggered but that can easyly be over ridden.

seems to me most thieves would be after the contents more than the whole enchilada.....
some guys i know set up flood lights for the overnight
while others park the lull right up tight to the trailer... insure everything..... hardstopping a cordless sawzall .... sucks but....
How long would it take to jack up and remove a wheel?
Excellence is its own reward!
hook up a car security system that runs off an aux battery.
U could wire up the aux battery to fit somewhere up front so it charges off the alternator while driving ....
a buddy did somethinbg like this for his drag rail trailer ......think all he did was upsixe the alternator and run some extra wires back.
Him being a bodyman/mechanic made it a bit easier ....but I know it can be done...somehow.
Betting a good ...small ....alarm shop could fix ya up.

Hi Thanks for the response. It has a small battery that holds a charge for the break away function, to lock up the breaks . So it does charge inside the trailer off of the pull truck. I tried to use a big motorcycle cable but couldn't fit it through the wheels. I was going to start off with the least amount of invasive ,but that might be a good way to go. Burn a nice clean hole in the two rims. The cable deal is pretty stout and if the integrated lock was on the underbelly side of the trailer it would be a little harder to bust.
I know that there is almost nothing that could deter some one that realy wanted to get it but I always say "don't make it so easy that any thief is obligated to steal it"
I was thinking something like the lojack locaters , or maybe something that would cost a little less, like a pet locator. They have alot cheaper monthly charge. Yep my pet Shed is missing, here Shed here Shed.

Burn a nice clean hole in the two rims. That should make the trailer useful for mixing paint at 60 mph.
the integrated lock was on the underbelly side of the trailer How many times do you think you would crawl under the trailer to set the lock before you decided it was too much trouble? Now think forward to the rainy/snowy season...how many times under the trailer?Do it right, or do it twice.
Once worked with a man that made a trailer out of a short Conex box. Real heavy duty stuff. Had three of those flat cylindrical locks that completely cover the hasp when he left it over night. He mounted it on a very heavy duty truck axle with air brakes. Unless the thief brings compressed air, and a non-standard connection they can't free the oversized breaks. He says that someone tried to drag it away. He could see where the thieves truck dug in up to the axles after skidding the trailer twenty feet. He suspected that they only got away a few hours before the crew arrived in the morning. There would have been some heavy duty splainin.
