I was perusing a security site for computers and I ran across this guys article. It tells a story of how he used checklists to accelrate his students English composition skills (Ironically, he doesn’t have an Enter key).
Anyways, I got excited thinking about the possibilitys of creating checklists for each component of a rough frame Wall, floors, roofs, cornice, stairs, etc. I can see this as a huge income booster if done right.
Anyone in here want to create a comprehensive list or do I have to do it myself?

I used to have such a checklist for every phase of a house. The subs had to submit them with each invoice after walking the house themselves and initialing each item, and then having the superintendent walk each house and initial each item. They were extremely comprehensive and very effective when actually used. Unforunately, I tossed them around 6 years ago when I moved back to NJ and started focusing on commercial work.

Thats a great idea Bob. I like the double check system. After it's all checked by both, I could then check the checkers!

Blue,
I the book "Production Checklist 3rd ed." by John Haasl (Builderbooks). It basically has a a bunch of checklists for each phase of construction ( prejob, safety, concrete, rought trades, etc....). I think its geared kinda geared to give checklists for a supervisor or G.C. go through after each stage. Also came with 3.5" floppy so you can print out/ modify the lists to your own needs.
If your interested, Id be willing to mail the book to you to see if its something you'd be intereseted in. I got the book a couple of months ago and just havent made the time to look through it
Just found it on amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0867185155/qid=1138760485/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/103-1636936-5511856?s=books&v=glance&n=283155). I know I didnt pay $37 for it, think something more like $20. Will try and figure out where I got mine from.
Let me see if I can load up the floppy, could e-mail you the floppy contents as an attachement. Give me a day.
