I’d like to hear some suggestions for various ways of making the transition from clapboard siding to cedar shingle siding. I’m using the rain wall technique and all clapboards are nailed to vertical strapping. The shakes will be nailed to horizontal strapping. Would like to start the shingles proud of the clapboard wall and slope in to the same plane on the higher coarses as I’ve seen on older houses, but would also like to hear some other creative ideas as well. Thank you.
