suv w. 26k miles. While on a hill and in drive….if you take your foot off of the brake the car slowly goes backwards. Is something wrong?

Most likely not. My guess is your idle speed may be a tad low. The higher the idle speed the more the torque converter tries to 'drive' the transmission.
Let's not confuse the issue with facts!

Not a problem.
Mine has done that since the day I got it.
The idle is slightly too low.
Better that, than too high an idle.
And since this involves a computer, I am leaving well enough alone...
