   Penofin claims to block 95% of the UV rays. We just used it for the first time this summer, so I can't give a testimonial, but we have high hopes. - jb

   None of the penetrating/sealer products will keep the wood looking new. They are essentially silicon which repels water and slows rotting. To keep the wood in like new condition requires a film finish. For an exterior deck it will mean a spar varnish or urethane spar. Visit any marine paint supplier for a variety of products.

   Yes, although it is probably the "new growth type", not fine furniture variety. 1 x4 dimension,nice red color, used stainless nails to fasten , on a PT frame in middle NH on lake.

   Need recomendation for treating outside Mahog. (1x4) decking. New const. in 98' Treated 2x in 98' with Beher UV clear sealer/preserv. Not happy w/ results after 1 winter in NE--spotty and still black mildew- I think ?. Pressure washed so far to attempt to start over. Looking for a good product to maintain the natural red color of the Mahog. ...not turn grey. Used Sikkens before on other project... not keen on the "orange" color of the product....anything new on this front ?
