Has anyone had any experience with “Burnished Amber”. Trex made a change in the manfacturing process 7 mos ago. There is a thickness and color change as a result. My lumber yard has mixed inventory (allways fun!!) My wholesaler has not seen anything like we have!!! My customer and his customer are beside themselves. Would like to know if anyone has experienced this problem. Nice job (10K) and good customer….
looking for wome input thanks

Not exactly sure what input you're looking for, but I just did two decks in Burnished amber this year. First one was completed in March, before they changed over the line in April. Second one was done in May and June...did run into a mixed batch...kinda sucked. Only had a few sticks out of the whole bunch that were the older, faded, thicker stock though. I was able to work them in without any problems (there wasn't time to order more from the lumberyard).
The new stuff is supposed to stay truer to the original color over time and have less color difference between batches, unfortunately this is accomplished by reducing the recycled plastic content (all this info via my distributer)
So I'd say either see if you can order a bunch extra with the ability to take back what won't work, or call Trex and find out how they can guarantee that you get what you want.
