I am redoing the skirting on a deck. The deck already has trex decking. I will be re skirting and installing a new trex rail system.
My question is can I simply clamp the skirting to the framing and drive screws from the back to keep the fasteners hidden? What would be the best screws for this application?
Thanks for any help.

Probably not. In my exp. w/trex you have to pilot hole for screws to not strip out in a heartbeat, and don't try to use the screw to actually be the primary clamp or holder, glue anything that you have to screw into trex.
I'd glue with PL Prem. and face screw with trim screws or the color matched screws sold for comp. decking.

If you can avod Trex it would be a better, but if you insist we've had success with azek using brad nails to hold it while pl sets up.
thanks for the input. I have another question as well.Scarf joints are another issue. I was recently installing windows on a cabin the had been trimmed with Azek. The scarf joints had shrank horribly. I have read past threads and recall a special adhesive for the Azek, is there something special like that for Trex?
No, I had called trex and asked for an application I was considering, and they reccomend Gorilla glue or similar polyurethanes. The recycled plastic is not even close to solvent weldable PVC.Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

So will construction adhesive help? If I glue the skirt board that has the scarf as well as maybe the joint it may not allow it to shrink as much?
Don't know about how much it'll move, thats pretty incident specific. I'd PL Premium the skirt to wood with caulk viscosity, and the scarf withh the bottle viscosity of PL Prem. It foams a LOT less than GGlue.
Both are avail at Lowes here. Two different places tho. Glue vis. is with the glues.Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

Plastic composite decking moves quite a bit, in my experience it's impossible to make any 'joints' go away even by trying to glue it. Wy not just 'embrace' the joints and gap them?View Image
