Hello:
We are in the process of spec’ing out an external rehab on our 1 1/2 story full Cape home in Massachusetts, and are attempting to nail down some specs on approporiate size trim boards for this style home. We will be using 5/4 CelTec or FJ Pine for the trim, and are shooting for a substantial, yet not overbearing/inappropriate trim application.
Specifically, we are interested in getting ideas on:
Cornerboards (assumption now is 5 1/2 width product)
Doorway trim (mounted above plinth blocks, with minimal crown/pilaster – assumption now is to use a 5 1/2 width product for the main ‘column’)
Rake – 3 1/2 Width???
Any golden rules we should consider for our Cape style home? We’re planning on painting trim an off white with slate grey claps.
Thanks in advance
