Does this look like a tulip? That is what I was trying for.
I spent about 1 hr. making this. Hard to get a good pic.

Yes. Nice work.
Bob's next test date: 12/10/07
Thanks Jim. I didn't realize the picture was so big. Did you see the quarter?
I'd missed it.
At first look I thought the plant was sitting on a floor.

Thanks for fixing Rez. You are good man.
Yes, I saw the quarter. I also thought about that and theorized that you put the quarter there to give a sense of scale. I then wondered if there was an optical illusion trick in play. Then I wondered if the tulip was very tiny. In the end, I decided to answer your question directy: yes, it looks like a tulip LOL! Whats' the story behind it all? Bob's next test date: 12/10/07
Not much of a story. I bought that wood pot a couple years ago and kept thinking I need to do something with it. Tulips are blooming now and I thought I will make a Tulip. Wish I could tell a better story.
How big is the pot and tulip? Big or small like the quarter? Bob's next test date: 12/10/07
The pot is 1/2" tall and 1 1/2" to top of the flower.
bad pic and explanation on my part in original post.
Very nice stylized tulip.
I dare you to shoot for a Parrot tulip<G>.
Clove currant in full gloriously scented bloom & I do believe we are finally done w/frost/frozen/snow type weather! WooHoo!!

It might be easier to make out of copper. I'm just a carpenter.

All but one puppies in happy homes..just one to go..whew!
Thanks, Rest up.
I worked on trim today so I have some energy yet.
I made one petal. Don't know about the whole flower.
Maybe you need one of these to go along side in the bouquet?
Copper and a Torx drive screw.

Hijack alert, is it safe to ask about raised bed gardening over in the gardening forum? or are they mean like the cooks?
End alert
Probably depends on if you have a honest question.
Dunno the cooks are mean and I was wondering if the gardeners are nicer since they work with plants.
Gardeners are a fine group of people. You may want to do a quick search on your raised bed question...just incase it was asked before. Wouldn't want to set them off by asking the same question twice<G>.Clove currant in full gloriously scented bloom & I do believe we are finally done w/frost/frozen/snow type weather! WooHoo!!
And what does one do if the search function returns copper pipe as commonly happens? People that grow stuff shouldn't be dangerous except the paranoid growing certain cash crops.
Ah. I envy metal art.
What's better than a rose on your piano?

Thanks, Seems crude compared to the copper rose.
I like Spheres' rose too, but you don't hang off of roofs all day long ......naw, both pieces are exquisite for the same reason, they were made by someone who does not do that for a living .
