Well, yesterday the painter brought his crew out to begin the prep process of painting my home. I am also having them wash and stain/seal the deck. Man, they spent ALL day here yesterday!
Anyway, my deck is about five years old and never had been stained or sealed. It had the most unattractive gray color to it like it was meant for the grave. Yet, the worker carefully pressure-washed it and managed to not raise the grain and he got it so dang clean it looked almost new!!!
My impression of the deck at this moment is that I must now buy a new grill because the deck ‘out shines’ the grill in appearance! And here I was thinking of doing nothing to that deck and just letting it fall down for repair later wityh new lumber.
So, if you have a gray-looking deck then its worth the effort to clean it via a skilled individual. I wish I had taken before pictures to illustrate the difference.
