Un-installing Silestone island top

I need to remove a 7 X 3 Silestone countertop so I can move it and the cabinets under it to another home. I believe the installer glued the Silestone to the cabinets. Is there any way to dissolve the glue or use piano wire or some kind of saw to detach the top? Thanks, Kathy

Kathy.
The couple tops I"ve had installed were secured with silicone. If I had to remove one I would start by trying to get a 1 inch putty knife between it and the cabinet. They would just caulk in place, so if you cut that bead at the cab/counter, you should be able to slide the putty knife all around and dislodge it.
Not saying it wasn't done, but I've never seen them "glued".
I've also use my Multimaster with a stiff scraper blade attached. The rapid slight oscillation made quicker work of cutting the bond.
Yeah, the ideal tool is a Multimaster (or clone) with a scraper blade, though you may need piano wire or long putty knives to reach some difficult spots.
Note that if the countertop includes a sink cutout, that cutout was likely braced with a "strongback" during install.
Isn't a
7x3 piece likely to be glued with blobs near the middle as well as around the edges?
I like the wire saw idea better than just the putty knife. Since it's an island it could work. I've demo'd a lot of kitchens and it's really hard to get stone off the usual countertops along the wall. It usually involves destroying the cabinets if you want to save the stone.

These boys around here use the wt. of the stone to hold it down. The silicone they use at the cab front is to hold it in position after they pull in and join the pcs.
Cut the fronts and sides and she comes out.
Lifting it off is the hard part.
