My wife has purchased an undercounter mount stainless country style sink for our new kitchen addition. The countertop will be soapstone. The instructions are very sparse, but it looks simple enough. Anyone got any advice?
Thanks,
Carl McCarty

Thanks for everyone help. I was a little confused about the sink cabinet size. I thought it needed to be sized to catch the lip aroun the sink.
I now understand it needs to be larger than the sink, allowing it to be mounted directly to the countertop (hence the term "undercounter mounted sink"). Now if someone could tell why I'm taking this Ginko Biloba...
Additional information (after finally finding the replies from last nights post). Soapstone countertop, No cabinets built yet, just finishing the electrical and rough in plumbing. I'm a halfway decent woodworker and the worlds slowest plumber and electrician.
Thanks,
Carl ,it's confusing trying to reply to you in two threads, perhaps you should reply back in the previous thread that I linked to with your additional info, maybe one of the posters that responded there will be along to help.

Hi
I just had a granite countertop installed by a local guy a couple of months ago. He put the sink in and it was quite easy. He had made a sink template at his shop and cut the sink hole before he brought it over to my house. Once the counter was in he ran a bead of high quality silicone on the rim of the sink placed in underneath, held it in place with a length of 1x2 (Single sink) . The next night he came over, took out the board and cleaned off the little bit of silcone that had oozed out.
Have a good day
