Thanks for the help regarding framing techniques. This weekend my brother and I framed in the walls for the shed, by building them on the deck, and then raising them, checking for plumb, and temporarily screwing them to a 2×4 for support. My hat is off to you who do this for a living. I probably drove 70 16d nails this weekend and I can barely close my hand this morning. I will post pictures later this week.

The recipe for linoleum hasn't changed much in nearly 170 years, yet it's still one of the greenest floors money can buy.

Nailgun.
Young, strong, cheap backs.
ha ha, cant justify the nailgun to the wife for just yet. You know you are a DIY when you have a 5lb box of 16d's and think "this is gonna be fun". Wrong. Had to put down the 28oz estwing for the 22.
Ahh, Estwing. That's a demolition hammer, BTW. GD&R

Good god, man, I have one of those 28 oz. beasts. My wrist hurts just thinking about extended use. It's better for demolition, or display, or frightening livestock. You've gotta have the arms of the Governator to actually pound more than 5 nails with the thing.

Yeah, i bought it thinking in the store it wasnt so bad WRONG! then I downsized to the 22 which is manageable and realized how insane that hammer is. I always thought Estwing were nice, is that true, because I cant see paying the money for a Douglas or Stiletto, I dont use them (hammers) much. I have heard good things about the Stanley anti-vibe.
Ok truth be told, after I realized I couldnt swing it anymore, I made my brother use it.

On the plus side, it is actually one of the few hammers that can scare a nail in! A solid hit and you're good, but a glancing blow and the WHAAANNNNGGG goes right through your elbow into your head. It's also good for chopping ice.

Hilarious stuff, scaring livestock indeed. I think the lumber shuddered as well, and it has the waffle pattern. He caught my finger with it ONCE, and that was enough, we stuck to our own sides of the top and bottom plates from then on.
But seriously, I mean is a hammer a hammer? I have a few Estwings, should I just save my money and get cheaper hammers? I used a wooden handled Vaughn and it about cracked the nails on my hand with each strike.

Ask Pro-Dek. He collects the things.
Or con your wife into a gun. Makes a great christmas gift, you know...

Only 70 16's? Ha! LOL Last weekend I drove over 40 lbs. of 8d's with a 28-oz Estwing at the Habitat house. Estwings are great, indestructable hammers but there are better, less damage-producing ones out there for about the same price...Vaughan, Craftsman and Plumb just to name a few-- A Douglas if you wanna spend a bit more. (I'm still waiting to lay down the cash.) Seriously though, you can rent a cordless nailer from HD when it comes time to frame/sheath the roof.
