Hi All,
Wanted to see what people thought of using PEX or CPVC for hot and cold water lines in an house remodeling. It would be to replace the pipes in the basement and not the walls. It will be replacing 100+ year old cast iron pipes.
THanks,
Steve

i would choose pex (wirsbo) after a demo i saw in my office i would probably never use anything else.
Yup, PEX would work. FHB had an article a couple years ago regarding PEX for DHW.
I wouldn't use CPVC.
Pex has it all over CPVC...
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
WOW!!! What a Ride!
Forget the primal scream, just Roar!
Check with your code official. CPVC is not allowed here. Pex is a much better product.
