Starting a small construction/handyman business & need some advice on the best vehicle to purchase. Currently driving a Landcruiser that’s filled to the gills w/ tools ect. Would a van or a pickup be a better choice & what accessories would you recommend, (racks , shelving, tops,)?
Thanks for the help & Happy Holidays

If I was buying now a regular cab with an 8' bed would be my choice.
Starting out, van is the way to go.
Or a step van.
If I had the money, pickup and 14' trailer. none of those 6' toy pickup boxes though.
or a van and trailer.
Don't care if it's a chevy, ford or dodge. As long as it gets me to the job.
At present I have a chevy van and a Gruman step van with a ford chassis

thoughts from earlier.
" You are young, my son, and as the years go by time will change and even reverse many of your present opinions. Refrain therefore awhile from setting yourself up as a judge of the highest matters." - Plato
It depends on where most of your work is. In the city with next to no parking then a pickup or van. If plenty of parking then for now a low cost trailer ($1000) for moving supplies.
I prefer the pickup because when demo'ing all the trash stayes in the back away from me. Clean out is quick with the hose and truck on a slope. Even with a cap.
Must be 8' bed, extended cab is real bonus 'cause all my tools just fit and leave the bed clear.
