I have several questions which fall under the general area of venting:
I have to install an air intake for my wood stove, and the “kit” which came from Jotul consisted of a single stove adapter- no pipe or outside vent. What would you recommend for the outside portion of the vent? The few that I have seen have been really cheap looking pieces, the it will be fairly visible from the outside.
In a similar note, I also have to install my dryer vent and possibly a fresh air intake in the utility room as well. The dryer vents also seem pretty cheap looking, and don’t seem to seal very well against air infiltration when not in use. Any suggestions there?

Have to...
Whose requirement? Functionality or an inspector?
We use an HRV that pressurizes the house slightly. When the woodstove or exhaust fan's going, pressurizes less. Drawing from 20k cu ft, we don't notice anything. Also means we aren't profligate with our heated air, HRV achieving well over 80% efficiency.
As to appearance, my inspector was happy to accept anything I wanted, as long as it looked like it'd work. Then it's a matter of finding hardware you don't mind the look of. If it pleases your eye, forget about original purpose, will it work?
Rez, cute.
