Electrical mystifies,, I need some advice on wiring two 1500 watt 120VAC wall heaters to a programmable thermostat. The only line volatage unit I can find is rated to only 2400 watts. Should I install a transformer to step down to common 16 volt or is it 24 volt system. A higher rated unit? Pull out the 120VAC units and put in 240 VAC ones? Any electricians out there?

Keeping HVAC systems within the conditioned enclosure can be tough without a basement; one option is to use plenum trusses for the roof, which offer a space for equipment and ductwork.

Based on the way you framed your question and your admission that "electricity mystifies me," I would really advise you to hire an electrician. I mean this not as an insult, but, while electical work can be demystified with some study and practice, there are some dangers inherent in just diving into a project such as you describe if the existing wiring/ supply is inadequate and your knowledge is sketchy.
Good luck
You need a relay (contactor) and a transformer and an
electrician. The relay is not a home center item, you
have to go to a distributor. You should have a separate
breaker for this setup.
