Warped vinyl slider

JLazaro317 | Posted in Construction Techniques on July 24, 2008 05:43am

Any way to unwarp a vinyl slider? I’ve got one that we installed last winter that the center stile on the outer fixed panel has warped inward and the center stile of the sliding panel has warped outward. Kinda makes it difficult to close the door.

I’d hate to replace the door if I don’t have to.

    you need to replace..

any repairs will go right back to it's current shape....

BTW... look to see if everything is plumb....

Thanks for the replies. I know that it is an easy replacement, but I always think it is a shame to trash some perfectly "good" door panels for warpage. I didn't know if a shim placed between them for the weekend might do the trick. The warpage is slight. 4' level on the stiles can only barely slip a business card behind. And everything is plumb and level.

I guess I'll be ordering some new panels under warranty.

      Thanks,John

This problem should be covered under the warranty.

It only takes a few minutes of your time to lift them off the tracks and fit and adjust the new ones in. This new of a door should be on the manufacturer.
