Has anyone out there used a tank less water heater in a project or for there own home? I need some feed back….I have a project for a close friend who needs to take a hot 119 d. whirlpool twice a day…..we where going to put in a 40 gal. and a 50 gal. water heater …. but I just heard of these units and think that for him it may be a better deal. (not having 90 gals of water to heat) What do you all have to say about this…

There's lots of (very emotional) discussions about this in the archives.
You need to do a little research on the available units and your particular situation. Gas or electric? Desired gallons/min flow. What is the temperature rise of the unit? What is the average incoming water temp in the house? If electric, do you have the electical capacity in the panel, and how much will it cost to run an appropriate circuit to the heater?
Do it right, or do it twice.
Definiatly do your research on what type you can install then, if appropriate, buy the larger capacity one. We have been using the Bosch Aquastar 240FX-NG for nearly a year and love it. With guests and family over you can take shower after shower and never run out of HOT water (with the 240 we can run the diswasher too). Plus gas bill dropped in half.
Our only complaint is if you are washing dishes in the sink, there is a lag time of only a second or two but if you are pulsing the hot water on and off just to rinse or something, it ends up not heating the water to full temp and you never get the hot water. So, we just fill the sink basins and wash like that. No big deal.
