I’m planning to run an electrical line about 100 feet to end in a 15 amp outdoor outlet, using PVC conduit (1/2 or 3/4 inch). I need to run a 3/4 inch PVC water line for a spigot to about the same place – is there any problem with laying the two conduits in the same trench? I couldn’t find anything about this situation in either SBA code or the Archives.

Call your local electrical utility provider. Ask to speak with their Engineering Dept. They can tell you whether or not you can do what you plan, how much spacing/seperation between the 2 lines are needed, etc. etc.
These guys are asked this question all the time, and they have actual regulations that stipulate what can and cannot be done. Instead of guessing, call them.
