I have been installing hot water recirculation pumps for years and on the last install, when the pump timer kicks it on early in the a.m., we are getting substantial expansion creeking, popping and moaning through-out the house. I have another house built at the same time that does not do this? Any ideas on what might be causing it?

You get the same thing with hot water heat if the tubing (especially copper) is rubbing against holes in the floor joists or other places.
It doesn't take much movement to make a lot of noise!
