i’ve tried to buy a versalevel by phoning, faxing, and paging the owner but he doesnt seem to want to sell any. has anyone ever bought a versalevel brand before?? how did you do it? is he out of business?
also, are there any other waterlevels for sale that have the same features?

I have a 14 year old versa level.
Ihave not seen an ad for the for quite some time.
If you really want a water level you can make your own with just a 100 ft length of clear hose.
The Bottle reservior on mine is just a Rubber-maid Juice box with a plastic nipple inthe side to attach the hose and some chain to hang it from a nail and a tube on the sid so it will sit on a piece fo rebar driven into the ground for a post.
You should be able to find what you need at any decent hardware store, to fabricate your own version without to much trouble.
Good luck
Mr. T. on the level!(or less than a half bubble off)
*thanks that sounds pretty easy. i thought it was some special molded thingi've never seen one except in an article long ago. i have seen the hydrolevel and this one sounded a lot better thanks again
*I've had excellent results with the ZIRCON water level--it has 25ft. of clear tubing and a "tone" at the base end to let you know you're level. Much better than the garden hose I/ clear end adaptors! Get more tubing when you buy it. Remarkable accuracy around corners!
*Just showed a guy at work the old water level trick. He'd never seen one in use. 50' of 3/8 clear plastic tube.....about $15 I think, and two golf tee's for plugs. Fill her up........finger flick the bubbles to get them ALL out....even the little tiny ones....pop in the tee's and carry......gently with the ends up......to the work. Uncork each end.....have one guy read one side and the other read the other.....practice saying.....ok, got mine.....now go up...no, make that down.....till she's on the mark. You can do a one man with a water reserve on the start point. I tried the battery deal a while ago....took it back.....was consistently off 1/2"......but.....when I picked up the new tubing for this job....I also picked up another version of the battery deal to try again. Maybe the first one was defective.......or I screwed it up somehow. The new one is still on the front seat.......maybe it'll get a test next week. Jeff
*i tried the zircon also, and always seemed to give different readings . i dont trust it... thats why I wanted the versalevel, no electronics to screw it up.. always works.
