this is not about rolling yer weed in some ice&snow sheild, but the brick tile porch of another thread, specifically the outer edge –
what the unfortunate builder did was this – drip edge over the facia and subfloor, Dira with an unknown adhesive brought on to that, treated 1×4 in another adhesive on that, with the tile coming up to it with a1/2 inch or so of mortar or grout between…
this failed miserably, as the facia , subfloor, and frame are rotted in 5 years, but I can’t. figure out a good way to do it…
the 1×4 was just painted with latex apparently, so I know that would allow moisture in, and the adhesives were obviously not a good seal….
any ideas would be appreciated….

Just like with the other thread, the only way to do this right is to tear it down all the way to do it right. There should have been a membrane down under before the drip edge was first nailed on.
Dira CAN be made warer resistant but it gets tricky. Previous guy took all the shortcuts and you are being asked to take more so don't expect miracles. Smear on some clear Geocell and close your eyes.
