Waterproofing outdoor decks living spac

I am considering an covered outdoor porch over a living space and need a good waterproff design. I seem to recall a FH article that covered this topic extensively. I looked at the archives and could only come up with a Nov 1997 article titled “Detailing Decks over Living Spaces” and this is not the article. I know theere was a very good article including some great details in FH. Can anyone help locate another, or can you provide any detailing advise? The deck will be about 4′ x 8′ and will open to the outdoors but covered by a roof above.
Any help would be appreciated

I remember the thing, but I'll bet it was in one of the specialty books Taunton puts out. Also, did you look here (search on) rooftop decks?
In any event....

Get a good roofer.
Don't put any nail or screw holes in it LOL!

temp hijack...
to fix the slop with yur miter put a layer of some of that chrome tape that you can get from the auto parts store to the edges od the miter slide...Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming<!----><!----><!---->
