Anyone use these openers? I have wayne dalto doors on my current home and I like the torqemaster spring system. The openers look interesting. I have read some reviews and many aren’t favorable but I have seen some that like them. i know bad reviews are far more likely to show up than good ones since people rarely take the time to post good experiences.
Just looking for some first hand knowledge.

I haven't used them but if you're open to other brands, I highly recommend Marantec openers. They're very quiet.

We use them all the time, but only when we have head room issues & a standard opener will not fit due to limited clearance between the top of the door in the open postion.
IIRC about $100 in price more then the standard opener, and it helps to have an electrical outlet on one side by the top of the door when its closed.
How reliable have they been? Any specific issues I need to be aware of.
It seems like a great idea. I wish they had more time on the market.Tom

I installed one in my garage about a year ago. I chose it because my garage has very high ceilings, and I wanted to build a storage loft above the door. It was easy to install, and it's fast and quiet. All the neighbors ooh and aah when they see it. I would buy another one in a heartbeat.

I bought and installed one, but unfortunalty it turned out I had the wrong style door track: I have the low profile track where the top roller is in its own seperate track rather than the conventional single track style. The I Drive only works on the conventional style.
I had already built the loft, and it turned out my old Genie screw opener worked in the space with a little fiddling.
In comparing the two, they both opened very quickly and smoothly. My only beef with the system is that you can't reverse the direction with a button push - but that is very minor.
BTW, If anyone is considering one I have a normal torsion spring one available for 1/2 what I paid for it at Lowes, plus shipping. I can't use it and I think I kept it too long to take it back again. I haven't gotten around to putting it on Ebay yet.
