I am building a new woodshop and would like to place a weather vane on top of my roof. Does anyone have a source for these?

*You might look at the e-bay auction site - http://www.ebay.com and then just type in "weather vane" in the search icon. I just ran a search and they listed 55 weather vanes. Most of these have pictures, so you can just browse through and get some ideas even if you don't want to bid. Many of these are reproductions (not always so stated) and sometimes if you contact those selling the item, they will sell you one for less than the high bid. Like most auctions, sometimes there are some real bargains but much of the time the bids are close to wholesale prices. I also checked http://www.amazon.com for books (one hit) and got a listing of actual weathervanes for sale from "fingerhut", they don't show pictures, but the prices on a "rooster" appear to be lower than the minimums listed on ebay. Of course, you could also make one as the first project in your new shop...

Thank you Jon and Casey. I'll check out these sites.
*For an absolutely stunning selection of weather vanes and finials, check out http://www.fischerartworks.com I purchased a finial from this firm, and the quality was top notch. The designs are great, and if you want to add any custom features, they are willing to do so.
